Kranke verdienen weniger als Gesunde, scheint wohl auch plausibel.
Wenn also unter den "Armen" (wie auch immer genau definiert) sich mehr Kranke als Gesunde finden sagt das nichts aus darüber ob niedriges Einkommen krank macht oder nicht. Das hindert aber die Volkshilfe nicht, "Armut macht krank" hinauszuposaunen (nicht nur als Meinung sondern als "Studie" , damit es nur ja wissenschaftlich klingt) - natürlich ohne zu erläutern warum sie so sicher sind dass Einkommen Krankheit beeinflusst und nicht umgekehrt. Letztere Möglichkeit wird gerade in einem Nebensatz im Vorwort erwähnt.
Das ist also nicht just what I would call a serious study, rather a suggestion to critically thinking human being.

Since we're on the topic lies are: the Boschüre still claimed by the way, that the evil "neo-classical economic theory," supposedly "the presence of at least
a base of poor and excluded people" demand. Again, this allegation is without any evidence, only with a general Claim that the find in Friedrich Hayek. This is particularly bizarre:
First, Hayek advocates have over 60 years, a basic income (see eg the book "Hayek on Hayek");
second was just Hayek not a neo-classicists (you can of course discuss what means exactly neoclassicism, but "rational expectations "and" neutrality of money are "well to both vertägt badly with Hayek).
PS: Also in "Income, Poverty and Living Conditions 2007" by Statistics Austria found the remark that "a causal closure [of poverty on disease] is not allowed here."
