€-forgetfulness

With all the discussions about the future of the euro zone seems to be somewhat forgotten:
When it came in the 90 years to the introduction of the euro, no one expected that the Southern States would be there. It was a (freudige!) surprise that Italy, Spain and Portugal were made up and filled by a number of years a reasonable economic policy criteria. An even bigger surprise was that Greece also seemed to qualify - but soon proved that while the statistics "nachgeholfen" was.

The "to the euro breaks" hysteria is, therefore, from this point of highly inappropriate - even if one of the southern states would leave the euro zone, this would only approach to what was expected ursprümglich: a DM-zone a french say. As the press the then French President Mitterand cited (from the book "The euro - the secret history of the new world currency") :
"Without a common currency, we are all - you [England Margaret Thatcher] and we - subject to the will of the Germans. If they raise their interest rates, we must Follow them and you do not belong to the monetary system, do the same. Join the conversation we can only do that if there is a European central bank, where decisions together, "
already bizarre, as will now go even more all beg the Germans. (Please, please, not a rescue fund)

. PS: The completeness. I do not think it is desirable that a country leaves the euro zone I'm just saying it would not be the end of the world is still too great a surprise
